The Ennstal valley in Styria is a magical place. It lies between the Dachstein and Tauern mountains, and is actually home to more alpine tarns than anywhere else in Austria. Discover the magical mountain world of Schladming-Dachstein as you go hiking, Nordic walking, cycling or mountain biking. Whatever you prefer, a broad network of paths, trails and tours awaits you. For our guests who like to ride an e-bike, we have bikes for rent (for a fee). For fans of running, we suggest the precisely measured trails passing right by our hotel. Meanwhile, 2 free tennis courts are located barely 50 meters from our hotel. So be sure to bring along your own tennis equipment.

Hiking
Whether walks through the valleys, hikes across alpine pastures, summit conquests, glacier traverses, via ferratas or rock climbing adventures. Here with us, you will discover the biking and hiking paradise of the Dachstein and the Schladminger Tauern mountains. In addition, we offer you guided mountaineering tours organized through the tourist office.
This region is famous for its wealth of hiking opportunities. A network of more than 1000 kilometers of hiking paths awaits you. That said, the variety is simply breathtaking. Guaranteed by the rugged limestone reaches of the Dachstein on the one hand, and the green, tarn-flecked slate expanses of the Tauern on the other. The contrasts simply couldn't be more diverse or fascinating.
Nordic Walking
The use of poles turns walking into training that also involves the muscles of the upper body. Nordic walking is equally suited for ambitious athletes as it is people with minimal conditioning. However, despite assertions to the contrary, the joints are subjected to greater stress than in regular walking. Alongside the River Enns or through the forest – in such idyllic scenery, exercise becomes easier than you ever imagined possible and the fresh air clears your mind marvelously.
Golf
If you don't want to forego the golf course even during your holidays, Hartweger's will be just what you are looking for. As a member of the "Golf Partner Hotels", we are able to offer you a 20% discount on green fees. The Dachstein-Tauern Golf & Country Club – also nicknamed the "Pebble Beach of the Alps" – is only 3 km from our hotel.
Tennis
About 50 meters from our hotel, you will find 2 clay courts that you are welcome to use free of charge. Please bring along your own tennis equipment.
